Pulling for Counterbalance

Lily has been doing beautifully pulling with the handle on the back of the harness.  But I have been using both the backward pressure on the harness AND the verbal cue "Go".  It is time to get rid of the verbal cue and let the backward pressure from the handle become the cue.

So I have gone back to the beginning, using her mat as the target and placing the reward there.

Here is our fourth session of the day.  There are moments where Lily leaves me and walks to the mat for the expected treat and I just wait for her to return to Tuck position before I lift the handle and apply the pressure to the handle.  She is only taking one or two short steps to receive her treat on the mat.

I am not concerned about distance.  I am still thinking, "PullGo" as I train.

Lily is wearing the ergonomic handle that Robin Walters made for the Freedom harness.
