This is Major. Major is a Diabetic Alert Dog, and he protects his little girl Stella, a type 1 diabetic. Major prays for a cure. Stella has type 1 diabetes through no fault of her own. She didn't drink coke out of her sippy cup when she was a baby, or eat too many snickers bars.
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease, and there currently is no cure. She will continue to check her blood sugar 10-14 times a day, and be insulin dependent, taking shots 4 times a day, or through an infusion set in her stomach until we find that cure. We pray everyday for that cure, as does our amazing Canine Hope for Diabetics DAD, Major. Please share and help us find a cure.

The stories of Type 1 diabetics are stories of courage.
DADs are lifesaving tools.
And they alert 10 - 14 times a day, minimally.
Now let's look at this from a training POV. Any behavior that is repeated 10 - 14 times a day, any place, any where, any time, becomes dependable.
Train toward it. Expect it. Trust it.
