Friday in the Park

This weekend Bethany and Wendi are visiting.  So we went to Tidelands Park this morning and set up the same Level II CRO course that Jan and I had worked on on Tuesday.  This is what CRO entails.

• set up the course
• walk through the course
• video the course signs in position
• take the dog through the course (filming)
• break down the course

We arrived at the location at 930.  We left at ll45.  Total amount of time spent with Lily on the course: 4 minutes 54 seconds.

But our 'connection' is lacking and Lily isn't offering the necessary focus.

Just not In the Game.  By now, the sun is fully out and it is hot.
The growing numbers of people near us are not the distraction.
The berries fallen from the few trees are.
And Bethany.  And Wendi.
AND the open hatch of our waiting car.

Let's see if the leash makes the focus any better.

A very full morning!  This is not a "one woman and her dog" project.  It takes a team.  Bless them!  Just as Jan and I before her, Wendi and I have been discussing the value of breaking down the courses and working in chunks.  We also talked about Lily and does she find CRO fun?  What about adding music and performing the courses as freestyle routines?

After returning home and relaxing, Lily and I did 5 short seizure scent discrimination exercises.  Now this is something she LOVES doing.  The difference in her demeanor was obvious to all!
